Jungle Animals at Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort

Arabian Oryx - the pride of the desert

One of our plans during our Eid holiday vacation in the UAE is to see first-hand the world’s rarest and most beautiful animals at Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort. This is a great chance for us especially the kids to gain fuller appreciation of the desert wild animals and endangered species as well as animal breeding and conservation.

The Al Ain Zoo

The Al Ain Zoo was situated in the foothills of the Jebel Hafeet Mountains in the beautiful city of Al Ain. Initially, the zoo was operated in 1967 through the vision of the late Sheik Zayed, Father of the nation, as a natural habitat for endangered species’ and the center for desert wildlife conservation. About 4,000 animals are found here including the famous oryx and gazelles. Later, the zoo was transformed into the Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort that occupies 900 hectares of land and house the African Safari and Sheik Zayed Desert Learning Center. The expansion was intended to integrate wildlife, conservation, leisure, learning and living all in one place. The area is so huge that public green spaces are available for picnicking and playgrounds. People can enjoy and relax while at the same time get a chance to come up-close and personal with the sanctuary’s animal residents.

During our afternoon tour, we saw many exhibits such as African animals, Arabian animals, white lions, cats, birds, and reptiles. At the education centre, we saw and take pictures with the real eagles and desert hunting birds. What Andrei eally enjoyed a lot, was when he interacted with the long-necked creatures, the Giraffes.


With tickets of 15AED for adults and 5AED for kids, at Al Ain Zoo you will immerse yourself to the beauty of living in harmony with nature and wildlife. This is what makes Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort an ideal and family’s favorite destination for wildlife learning and discovery.
