Swimming at the pool of Falaj Daris Hotel in Nizwa

My boy Andrei and girl Anyah
May 10, 2012 - Nearly thirty minutes after we arrive in Nizwa, the largest city in Dhakiliyah Region. We proceed straight to Falaj Daris Hotel located about 4 kilometers from the city.
Falaj Daris Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Oman and is still the ideal tourist’s destination to relax and get comfortable accommodation in Nizwa. With an affordable cost of 2.500 Omani rials for adults and 1.00 Omani rials for children, we already have a half-a-day fun in one of its swimming pools in the courtyard. The first swimming pool can be seen directly from the lobby area and Al Fanar restaurant that offers an a la carte menu while the second largest one, with children’s pool, is surrounded by Al Sahara Lounge and children’s playground. Al Sahara lounge is a lively place where the evenings are enjoyed with Arabic music and dancing.

At the poolside is an American couple, whom I presumed have just done swimming, is greeting each one of us in our own Filipino language and saying “magandang umaga” (which means good morning). We courteously give them smiles and wave them back while saying “mabuti” (which means fine).

We settle in one of the tent gazebos and the kids quickly change in their swimwear while I manage Anyah to try on her new one-piece bathing suit in blue color and bordered with red linings. I take several photos while she gaze and stand in a comfy chair giving her unsolicited grin to me. She appears so cute and adorable. Jesse blow up the inflated neon yellow color swimming craft for little Anyah to ride on that is a good match up with her attire. Anyah give so much laughter while paddle her legs and arms in the water. This is actually the first time that she appreciates and enjoys the pool because the previous one was in Iceland Waterpark where she was crying and screaming. All the kids play with Anyah and doing peek-a-boo every time she shouts and made her mouth wide-open.

It is past 1:00 o’clock when we take our lunch. All the main dishes are ordered from the Restaurant consist of white rice, fried fish fingers, French fries, and sweet and sour noodles. We also bring homemade dessert that Rubie cook beforehand like banana muffins, maja blanca, and choco cake.

My baby is already shivering after two hours and feeling cold, so I quickly change her and myself to wear dry clothes. I put her to sleep while walking around the hallways of the hotel and singing in soft lullabies. Not until I also feel sleepy and snug into the lobby super comfortable couch and went to sleep while hugging Anyah beside me. When I wake up, the guys and kids are all prepared and fixed. It is a quick but nice napping time to recharge myself for our next destination to Lulu Hypermarket and Nizwa fort.
