Dangling our feet into Ain Al Kasfah Hot Spring

Last 15th of December in 2011, we return to Ain Al Kasfah Hot spring for the second time. We have visitors from Ibri, who are my fellow “kababayans” from my hometown in Philippines, so I am a bit of a wholehearted host that I want them to see and experience the therapeutic qualities that the spring’s claim for fame.
The bubbling water of Al Kasfah Spring in Rustaq

look how amazed we are with the spring
My guests are amazed on what they have witnessed. The whole spring perfectly rests behind a mosque in Rustaq, Al Batinah Region. Its 5meters in diameter circular area is bordered by bronze metals to keep someone secured and falling fortuitously off into the hot water welling up from the depths of the earth. They say that the water temperature is 45C, warm enough to cook a raw egg for few minutes.
at 45C temperature, this water can nearly cook a raw egg in few minutes

Small and few bubbles emerge endlessly from the middle and the deeper-darker-bluish part of the spring. Steams also appear at top of the water level.

tiny algae dwells around the spring
But, there are some green and tiny plants known as algae dotting around the shallow section and in the rocks. It is an obvious scene that though the water is warm but living things are likely to evolve and dwell in this place.

At one end of the spring, there are series of cubicles specially catered for visitors who like to bathe and experience the healing effect of warm water channeled through a falaj. People who have come here regularly have testified that the spring has actually an effective cure for wide range of muscular diseases or even rheumatism.

But for me, I enjoy the sight of my friends and family dangling their legs over the water dike and who are feeling relax and relieve at the moment.
